General Description: 
The Traffic Signal Technician works under general supervision and is responsible for the general operation and maintenance of traffic signals and electronic equipment as well as various communication interfaces in the Intelligent Transportation System.  
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires High School graduation or GED equivalent supplemented by specialized courses/training equivalent to completion of one year of college in computer technology, programming, electronics or electrical engineering or closely related field.

Requires two years' experience in traffic signal installation, operation, troubleshooting and repair techniques.

Special Certifications and Licenses:
Must possess or have the ability to obtain a driver’s license valid in the State of Tennessee.
