The City of Oceanside is accepting applications for Electrician. There are currently two vacancies in the Public Works Department. One vacancy is in the Traffic Control section and the other is in the Harbor Division.
Typical duties include but are not limited to: installing, testing, replacing, maintaining and repairing a variety of electrical equipment and devices associated with traffic signal equipment, street lighting, installation of wiring and equipment on fixed or floating piers, docks and marinas, parking lot devices, and general electrical building maintenance; troubleshooting and performing preventive maintenance; operating a variety of electrical equipment and vehicles; preparing routine reports and maintaining service logs; and performing related duties as assigned.
Five years of increasingly responsible experience in the maintenance, installation, and repair of electrical systems; high school diploma or equivalent supplemented by completion of an accredited five-year apprenticeship program or equivalent combination of college level courses in electrical engineering or a related field and experience; State of CA General Electrician certification or IMSA Traffic Signal Technician Level II or higher, (depending on the area of assignment); valid driver’s license, (Class B driver’s license may be required depending on area of assignment).
