Nature of Work
Performs technical duties including signal inspections, plans review, field locates  and administrative duties for the Traffic Signal Maintenance Section of the Transportation Engineering Division. Maintains contact with contractors, consultants, and engineering personnel regarding new installations, changes, and upgrades to City of Orlando signal equipment including Computerized Signal System, fiber optic, and hardwire networks within City limits and surrounding areas. Administrative duties include correspondence to parties involved in construction projects and tracking and recording prints, proposals, faxes, etc.  Troubleshoots blueprints to resolve issues prior to start of construction.
Minimum Requirements
High school graduate plus two years experience in traffic control equipment installation; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.  Florida driver license required; Class B Commercial Driver License preferred, or must obtain within six months of hire.  Proficiency with personal computers and Microsoft Office software preferred.

International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) Level I Traffic Signal Technician certification preferred, or must be obtained within six months of hire.
IMSA Level I Traffic Signal Inspector certification desired, or must obtain within one year of hire.
IMSA Level II Traffic Signal Technician certification desired, or must obtain within two years of hire.
