TRAFFIC SYSTEMS SUPERVISOR
Brevard County Florida has an immediate opening for a qualified individual to perform skilled technical work in the construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of traffic signals, traffic control mechanisms and all electronic components used to operate traffic control devices and oversee and provide technical supervision to the Traffic Signal Program.
Requires (2) years of college level credit with major coursework in Electronic Technology, or a closely related field; plus (4) years of progressively responsible transportation engineering experience dealing with traffic signal installation, maintenance and repair; plus (3) years of traffic systems related supervisory experience. Additional qualifying education and/or experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities may be substituted one for the other on a year for year basis. Good knowledge of ITS systems installation and maintenance is required.
Must possess or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida Class B Commercial Driver’s license with Air Brake endorsement.
Must possess or obtain prior to employment, an (IMSA) Level III Traffic Signal Technician certification.
Must possess or obtain within (18) months of employment, an (IMSA) Level I Roadway Lighting certification.
Must possess or obtain within (12) months of employment, the Advanced Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) certification.
Subject to (24) hour call (7) days a week and is also required to work during major traffic incidents, system failures, and/or emergencies.
Hourly $21.29 - $23.42 –Negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
