Adams County is seeking a Traffic Operations Engineer to be a part of our Traffic Section team in our Public Works Department. The individual in this position performs provides administrative, technical, and professional leadership and direction for the Traffic/Transportation Section. Manage, plan and coordinate the activities and operations of Traffic/Transportation staff, including: traffic/transportation planning, installation and maintenance traffic control devices, pavement marking services, and street sign services, and fabrication.
To be considered for the position, you must have a Bachelors degree in traffic or civil engineering from an accredited college or university and a minimum of two (5) years of increasingly responsible professional traffic engineering experience including three years of administrative and supervisory responsibility and two years of traffic signal timing and operation experience. The preferred qualifications for the position are: Professional Engineer (PE), Signs and Markings Level II certification from the International Municipal Signal Association; Professional Traffic Operations certification and/or Traffic Signal Level I certification.
Five years of increasingly responsible traffic engineering experience including three years of administrative and supervisory responsibility and two years of traffic signal timing and operation experience.
