TRAFFIC OPERATIONS TECHNICIAN

City of Bakersfield, CA

$4,533.87 - $5,509.05 / Month plus excellent benefits

The City of Bakersfield is currently seeking an experienced individual to join our Traffic Engineering team.  The individual hired for the Traffic Operations Technician position will assist in the inspection of construction of traffic signal systems; testing new signal equipment and software; maintenance of traffic control devices inventory; evaluation of traffic signal timing and existing signal operations for proper electronic operation; and assist in signal plans submitted by consulting engineers.

The position requires that candidate has:

• Graduation from high school or G.E.D , including or supplemented by courses in electronics, AND;
• Four (4) years combined experience in the repair and maintenance of microprocessor traffic signal equipment, inspection of traffic signal system construction projects and design, analysis and implementation of traffic signal timing plans, OR;
• An equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the capabilities to perform the described duties, AND;
• Possession of a valid California Class "C" driver's license
• Possession of a top level IMSA certificate in signal maintenance and operations is desirable
• Must be able to pass a background check
