Responsibilities:
Diagnose signal problems on site and execute repairs in a safe and
timely manner. Must have working knowledge of all controller types and
components of the intersection. Construct traffic signals and lighting
per design plans. Run fiber optic cable, install traffic control
devices and terminate cables in traffic signal cabinet. Ensure work
zone safety by installing traffic control devices (cones). Locate cable
for contractors and public utility companies. Perform preventive
maintenance and annual inspections and system checks.
Qualifications:
Graduation from high school or the equivalent with two years of
directly related experience; or graduation from an accredited trade or
technical school in electronics or electricity and one year of related
experience; or any equivalent combination of training and experience. A
valid Texas driver's license is required at the time of application and
the time of hire. Must be able to obtain a Texas Class "A" commercial
driver's license (CDL) within six months of employment. Must obtain A+
Certification within the initial six month probationary period.
