EPCOR Technologies requires a permanent Signals Technician II to construct, maintain, modify, test, design and repair all traffic control equipment, as well as respond to trouble calls. 

Other accountabilities of this position include: 
  
-          Documenting preventative maintenance, trouble and repair records;
-          Developing safe work plans and promoting a safe work environment;
-          Providing on-the-job training;
-          Being proactive in activities that lead to increased customer base and retention, such as interacting directly with clients to explain technical information as required;
-          Updating electrical drawings and prints;
-          Installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical equipment;
-          Responding to trouble calls, troubleshooting and diagnosing technical issues with electrical equipment in the Traffic or Substations areas;
-          Preparing documentation on new and existing signal systems;
-          Conducting acceptance tests on new equipment;
-          Documenting results and compiling reports;
-          Actively engaging in and recommending changes that will improve the company’s ability to compete in the marketplace; and 
-          Other related duties to be performed as required.

The successful candidate will possess:
  
-          The completion of the twelfth grade or equivalent (GED);
-          A Journeyman Power Systems Electrician, Journeyman Electrician or Journeyman Power Lineman Certificate;
-          Three years of traffic signals experience at the Journeyman level;
-          The successful completion of a Semi-Conductor Electronics course (ELT43) with a minimum of 60% pass mark and a 60% pass mark in Digital Electronics course (ETC141) from a recognized technical institute is required (or equivalent);
-          The successful completion of  IMSA Level 2 and 3 courses;
-          Valid Class 3 & 5 Alberta Motor Vehicle Operator’s License; and
-          Ability to use computer systems to track work, read prints, and communicate information. 

In addition to the above-listed requirements, the successful candidate will have a demonstrated supervisory ability and a competency, capability and interest in coaching others and fostering teamwork.  They are a team player, adapt well to change, and have well developed analytical thinking and problem solving skills.  The position requires a strong attention to detail when completing jobs, especially when following electrical prints, following work procedures and documenting the work completed.  This position also requires a strong customer focus and an openness to change that supports company competitiveness.  Our best candidate will have a continual focus on safety, operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
