Traffic Signal Network Communications Supervisor

City of Irvine


The City of Irvine seeks a seasoned professional to serve as part of the City’s traffic signal maintenance team. This position plays a crucial role in managing, maintaining and supporting essential network communication between the City’s traffic management center (ITRAC) and signalized intersections throughout the City. The Supervisor will be expected to maintain and monitor network infrastructure of citywide traffic signals and network nodes, maintain data communication of traffic surveillance cameras for traffic incident response and signal synchronization timing, administer the traffic signal local area network, coordinate network outage incident response, maintain computer software licenses essential to traffic management computer servers and implement hardware and software upgrades to ensure traffic signal system compatibility and usability.


Requires an Associate’s degree with three to five years’ experience with traffic signals or computer network systems, including two years as a supervisor, or any equivalent combination.
