TRAFFIC SIGNAL TECHNICIAN

Naples, Florida

Collier County Government’s Traffic Operations Section is currently seeking a Traffic Signal Technician to builds, install, maintain, troubleshoot, test, and calibrate traffic signal systems, including traffic and, electrical components, relays, load switches, circuit breakers, circuit boards, fans, and other related components.  Inspects, cleans, maintains, and troubleshoots traffic signal controller cabinets, various types of detection (video, loops, microwave and radar), conflict monitors, and other related components. Maintains signal head lenses, reflectors, and disconnects; wires and replaces signal heads, light bulbs, and other hardware; assembles flasher system signal heads; inspects and troubleshoots streetlights for blown fuses, bad bulbs, or other problems; opens and replaces broken pull boxes.

HS diploma or GED; plus vocational/technical training in electricity, electronics, mechanics, and traffic control system operations plus 2 years previous experience and/or training involving electronics, traffic signal construction, mechanical maintenance, traffic control system operations, and equipment operation. Must possess IMSA Work Zone Safety and Traffic Signal Technician I certifications or the ability to obtain within the first 6 months of employment; must possess an IMSA Traffic Signal Technician II certification or the ability to obtain within 12 months of employment; must possess a valid Florida CDL including appropriate endorsement(s) or the ability to obtain within the first 6 months of employment.
