Street Light and Signal Mechanic

City of Pasadena, CA

Salary- $33.50-$41.94

Under general supervision, a Street Light and Signal Mechanic directs one or more crews or works independently to install, maintain, and repair street lighting and traffic signal mechanical, electrical, and control equipment; programs, installs, and troubleshoots 170 and 2070 traffic signal controllers; installs, wires, tests 332 traffic signal controller cabinets; performs preventative maintenance on traffic signal equipment; performs related tasks as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• Four years of in street light and signal repairer
• Possession of IMSA Traffic Signal Level II- Traffic Signal Bench and/or Field Technician Level II certification.

Special Requirements:

• Possession of a valid Class B California Driver’s License
• Ability to work swing shift, graveyard, weekends and 24 hour emergency call-out
• Ability to operate a personal computer within one year of appointment
• Possession of IMSA Traffic Signal Bench and/or Field Technician Level II Certification as a condition of passing probation.
