TransCore announces two full-time traffic engineering openings in St. Louis, MO.

 

The positions will support development of a regional traffic signal management system.  The program represents a joint effort by local agencies to utilize investments in field and software technologies to improve local signal performance.  With goals to reduce delays and improve progression along major corridors, the program will continue to mature in coming years. 

 

Applicant Minimum Requirements

  • Experience with traffic signal systems, their function, and operation
  • Experience with troubleshooting and field support of signal systems
  • Experience with traffic signal software applications

 

Job Responsibilities include:

  • Utilize new central signal system software, to manage region-wide traffic signals (350+)
  • Run manual timing plans or make timing changes in response to planned and unplanned events
  • Use traffic modeling software to develop and implement new signal timing plans
  • Assist in the development of new signal timing plans
  • Prepare reports detailing the signal system’s performance
  • Troubleshoot signal timing plans to address public concerns, or agency needs
  • Investigate hardware and communication equipment issues
  • Prepare a monthly arterial mobility report and track performance measures
