For the office of

2013 IMSA Director-at-Large

(Four Positions Available)

Nominations will be accepted during the following period

January 18, 2013- February 18, 2013

The IMSA Nominating Committee is accepting nominations for the office of IMSA Director-at-Large which must be submitted no later than Monday February 27, 2012.  All nominations shall be submitted through the IMSA Executive Director.  Nominations may be submitted electronically (pgum@imsasafety.org) or in written form delivered to:

Term of Office:  One year with a maximum of three consecutive terms.

All candidates, and those nominating a candidate, should be familiar with the duties and responsibilities of the office before submitting nominations and candidate information to IMSA:

Association Membership
Such person shall have been a member of IMSA in good standing for more than 5 years and shall have served as a Section officer.

Who is eligible to Nominate

Active, Public Agency and Life Members are eligible to make nominations. Check your membership card to find your membership type.

How to Nominate

You can nominate a qualified person for the office of Director-at-Large by completing the following actions:

1. Contact the candidate and receive his/her agreement to have his name and qualifications submitted as a nominee.
2. Receive candidate’s agreement to submit his/her qualifications (see list below) and information to the Executive Director by February 18, 2013.
3. Person nominating should send an email to the Executive Director that contains the following:
   
   • a. Person making the nomination – name, IMSA member ID, day phone and e-mail address.
   • b. Candidate’s contact information (name, preferred mailing address, email, day phone).
   • c. A statement indicating you have spoken with the candidate and the candidate’s willingness to serve.
   • d. The candidate’s agreement to submit qualifications and information required by February 18.
   • e. A statement as to why you believe this candidate is qualified to become a Director-at-Large of IMSA.

Candidate Submittals

All candidates must submit the following to the IMSA Executive Director before the nomination deadline:

1. A statement, signed by the candidate, affirming that they have the ability, time, resources and assistance necessary to properly perform the duties of an elected office of the Association, including the office of Director-at-Large.
2. A brief resume of their personal, professional and educational background.
   
3. A letter from the candidate’s employer indicating level of support for this office.
4. A statement or letter, signed by the Secretary of his/her Section, asserting that the Section, by vote of the Section Officers, approves and supports his/her candidacy.

2013 IMSA Director-at-Large Nomination and Election Process Timeline

Friday, January 18, 2013 – Nomination period opens.

Monday, February 18, 2013 – Nominations Close and qualification information for publishing due to Executive Director.

Tuesday, March 23, 2013 -  Nominating Committee meets either in person or conferenc ecall to review submittals and decides if submittals are complete.

Tuesday, March 19, 2013 – List of qualified candidates sent to Council of Delegates.

Thursday, July 18, 2013 – Nominating Committee meets to review candidates and develop recommendations to be given to Council of Delegates.

Friday, July 19, 2013 – Council of Delegates meets, receives Nominating Committee recommendations and votes.

Tuesday, July 23, 2013 – Swearing in of new Board at Conference closing banquet.
