Traffic Signal Foreman – Orange County Government - Orlando, FL
$20.41 to 32.48 per hour
•Supervises, schedules and assigns construction, maintenance, preventive maintenance and repair of traffic signal control systems;
•Inspects all work performed on traffic signal installations
•Supervises technicians in a variety of traffic control related functions,
•Provides training and assistance to others in the completion of difficult and technical assignments;
•Attends pre-construction and on-site meetings.
•Performs personnel management activities
•May be required to work overtime, standby, or call back duties as directed by management
Graduation from an accredited high school or vocational school and three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in traffic signal or electrical and electronic traffic control equipment installation, maintenance and repair work.
Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Florida driver’s license and a valid International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) Level II Certification.
•One (1) year supervisory experience – preferably in traffic signal related field;
•Considerable knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions;
•Ability to plan, schedule, assign, supervise, and inspect work of others;
•Ability to read, create and work from plans, schematics, factory manuals, and technical drawings;
•Ability to detect defects in and make technical repairs to electronic, electrical and electro-mechanical traffic control equipment;
•Ability to follow oral and written instructions and keep accurate records and prepare and submit clear, concise and accurate reports;
•Ability to perform duties requiring physical strength and endurance outdoors and in inclement weather.
