GENERAL DESCRIPTION 
The purpose of this classification is to facilitate safe and efficient vehicular and pedestrian traffic flow and safety through the use of traffic control devices. This position works to improve routine traffic flow, as well as manage abnormal traffic from events, while adhering to various government guidelines

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS 

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or similar engineering field is required, and a minimum of six (6) years of experience with at least four (4) years performing engineering work under a licensed Professional Engineer. Experience cannot be substituted for the educational requirement; however, a related Master’s Degree may be substituted for two (2) years of experience.

SPECIAL LICENSE/CERTIFICATION 
Professional Engineer License from the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Those with an equivalency from another state must obtain a Professional Engineer License from the Commonwealth of Kentucky within six (6) months of employment as a condition for permanent appointment.

EXAMINATION 
Applicants who we determine meet the minimum requirements will be invited to take a pass/fail electronics and circuitry written examination.  Those applicants will be notified via e-mail or phone of the dates/times for the exam.
