The Transportation Operations Division of the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) presents an exceptional opportunity to join a highly successful Signal Maintenance team as a Journey Level Signal Electrician to help build and maintain the largest inventory of municipal traffic signals in the State of Washington. Under the general supervision of the Traffic Signal Crew Chief, this position will install, maintain, and modify the City of Seattle’s traffic signal and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) system.
- Three (3) years journey-level electrical or electronic experience installing, maintaining, and calibrating control or measuring devices comprised of solid state electronic or computer systems in the signal trade or an equivalent combination of related education and experience.
- Current Washington State driver’s license with Class A or B CDL combination endorsement.
- Certification as a Level II Traffic Signal Technician by the International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) is required within 12 months of eligibility to take the examination.
- May also require appropriate crane certification as required by law.
