IMSA Roadway Lighting Technician Certification

The IMSA Roadway Lighting Technician exam certifies that the holder is knowledgeable in the basic terminology and operation of today’s complex lighting systems.

What Does the Exam Cover?

  • Standards and specifications of basic wiring, grounding and equipment
  • Operating principles of illumination
  • Electrical safety
  • The tools, processes and materials used to build and maintain roadway lighting systems

What are the Prerequisites?

  • Current IMSA Work Zone Temporary Traffic Control Technician or IMSA approved Work Zone equivalent
  • One year of roadway lighting operation experience
