The IMSA Roadway Lighting Technician I exam certifies that the holder is knowledgeable in the basic terminology and operation of today’s complex lighting systems.

- Standards and specifications of basic wiring, grounding and equipment
- Operating principles of illumination
- Electrical safety
- The tools, processes and materials used to build and maintain roadway lighting systems
What are the Prerequisites?
- Current IMSA Work Zone Temporary Traffic Control Technician or IMSA approved Work Zone equivalent
- One year of roadway lighting operation experience
