How do I renew my certification?
Are certification renewals impacted by the new certification rollout?
No, renewals are dependent on completing the continuing education hours within three years prior to the certification expiration date. Fiber Optics requires 8 hours of continuing education, IMSA Work Zone Temporary Traffic Control Technician requires 4 hours and other certifications require 16 hours.
What if I do not have the required number of continuing education hours for renewal?
Please contact the IMSA certification team at cert@imsasafety.org or 321-349-3555.
My certification expired. How do I reinstate it?
You will have one year after the expiration date to reinstate your certification by documenting the correct amount of training hours for your program. Click here for full details. If the certification is not reinstated within one year, you will need to take the current certification exam at the highest level previously attained and pay the regular certification exam fee. Only the regular certification exam fees will be due, and retake of prerequisites will not be required.
How much does it cost to get my certification renewed?
Pricing is based on the number of certifications you are renewing and whether or not you are a member. Please note that renewals are based on an individual’s certifications, not an agency or group rate.
| Number of Renewals | Fee | Member Savings | Member Price |
| 1 | $90 | $40 | $50 |
| 2 | $120 | $40 | $80 |
| 3 | $140 | $40 | $100 |

All IMSA section programs are two days in length. The only exceptions are CFOT and CFOD, which are three-day programs.
