Field Service Technician / Service Support Person

Job located in (1) Wichita, Kansas USA (Corporate Office).

We are seeking a Field Service Technician/ Service Support Person to join our team! You will be a key personal for the company and work directly for the Senior Field Service Technician. You will be the main boots on the ground for the company and will resolve customer service support questions and offer solutions to local municipalities traffic staff, ITS (Intelligent Transportation Systems) contractors, and consultants.

High School Diploma or GED equivalence

Physically live in Wichita, Kansas Metro area (25-mile commuting area to Corporate Office).

Valid Kansas driver’s license or ability to obtain one if valid in another state.

Maintain automobile insurance on your personally owned vehicle that you operate during the function of your employment at Gades Sales Company.

IMSA Certified as a Traffic Signal Field Technician level I or Traffic Signal Field Technician level II or Traffic Signal Field Technician level III.

Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.

Demonstrated experience in conducting inspections, repairs, preventive maintenance, and functions relating to, but not limited to, set up, turn on, repair, conduct preventative maintenance, of traffic signals, programing traffic controllers, ITS central systems, software and firmware upgrades and new installs, ITS repairs and installs, traffic cabinets and components, intersection timing, read, understand, and implement traffic plans, drawings, traffic responsive systems, and adaptive ITS systems. Install, turn-on and repair traffic communication systems, overhead flashers, school zone flashers, streetlights, pedestrian lights, to maximize roadway safety.

Possess refined written and oral communications skills (English).

Possess experience with Microsoft Office products.

Possess at a minimum of two years of traffic signal technician/ITS field technician experience.

Daily travel to and from the office to customer(s) will be required to work with local

municipalities traffic staff, ITS contractors, and consultants.

The ability to keep safety as a priority while conducting jobs effectively and efficiently.

Installing, configuring, repairing, and maintaining, and implementing traffic hardware and software solutions at intersections and freeways.

Troubleshooting and diagnosing technical ITS issues/testing in the field and for new traffic cabinets and solutions at the corporate office in Wichita, KS.

Complete field service written reports within CRM based on installations, programming, and customer service.

Provide technical product support to existing and new customers.

Provide in-person and virtual traffic signal equipment and technical training.

Provide product line software/firmware versions expertise.

Attend local technical trade shows and classes (IMSA).

Be a “problem solver” for the customer and not just a part replacer.

Maintain a “customer is always right” approach to customer service.

Use technical knowledge to support and build sales through coordination with the sales team.

Be expected to work on a full-time basis, to work at least 40 hours in a standard week, Nonexempt basis with other employees answering service calls and conducting ground-level preventive maintenance as needed as part of an agencies contract with the employer.
