Robert “Bob” Garrett of Arizona passed away at age 88 on September 26, 2024. He was renowned for his contributions to the public safety field.

Garrett was the first chief executive of the American Traffic Safety Services Association until 1998. From 1998 to 2020, he served as the executive secretary for the National Committee on Uniform Traffic Control Devices. Garrett was an Honorary Emeritus Member of the NCUTCD. Before his career in the public safety industry, Garrett served in the Marine Corps in the Korean War.
