Transportation & Mobility Engineer

The City of Marysville is searching for a Transportation & Mobility Engineer. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a professional and innovative team. The pay range is $90,000-$120,000, with an outstanding benefits package (including medical, dental, vision, 12 paid holidays, and more) and flex scheduling with some telecommuting.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Performs as the City’s lead subject matter expert for the City’s Intelligent Transportation System (ITS), and provides support/expert advice to the City Engineer, Director of Public Service, City Manager, and others as needed.
  • Manages the planning, design, construction, maintenance and repair work of transportation infrastructure including traffic control devices, pavement striping, signage, rectangular rapid flash beacons (RRFBs), speed radar feedback signs, school zone flashers, EV charging infrastructure, and street lighting to create and sustain a transportation system that is efficient, safe, and of high quality.
  • Supports the City’s work to leverage the Beta District brand, vision, and partnerships. Supports and advises the City Engineer, Director of Public Service, and City Manager regarding the NW 33 Innovation Corridor Council of Governments. Serves as the liaison and seeks to expand Marysville’s programs regarding Connected Marysville/Beta District and Drive Ohio or other initiatives as needed.
  • Responsible for the external/internal design, consultant oversight, plan review and plan preparation of transportation and mobility capital projects.
  • Manages and/or provides oversight/review of engineering plans and traffic studies; making recommendations for changes in our transportation and traffic network.
  • Directly manages/leads the Traffic Technician I and Traffic Technician II.

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • A minimum of four (4) years of experience in transportation planning, engineering project management, traffic operations management, electronic traffic control systems management, or a closely related field.
  • Prior supervisory experience.
